If you are living in China, you know how it is embarrassing to make international calls…
 
 
Several solutions exist:
On PC or PDA：
SkypeOut or other Internet VoIP providers

On fixed and mobile phones:
- Buy IP card
- Activate IDD calls (China Mobile requires a minimum credit of 500rmb on your account when you ask for this service, and they will automatically deactivate it one month later…)
- Callback systems like Expat Telecom
 
 
But, there is a new service launched one month ago by China Mobile:
International VoIP long distance calls!

On June 1st, Shanghai was hosting for the first time in Asia the French Parisian "Nuit Blanche". Usually, this event is organized one time per year in France in order to promote culture (music, cinema, arts…) during one whole night, up to the morning.

In Shanghai, the French Embassy in China was in charge of this happening, and they’ve decided to end it by inviting Louis Bertignac, which is the ex-leader of the ex-well-known "Téléphone" band (they played rock n’ roll in France during the 80’s, and are still really esteemed in France).

Thanks to Killy the Frog, I’ve discovered an amazing website about Paris:

The aim of this website is to discover Paris 100 years ago, thru old black & white cliches, and to compare it to nowadays pictures.
The fact is that we have to admit that French capital has less changed than Shanghai in 10 years

115 pairs of pictures are available. Every picture has a link towards Google Maps in order to have accurate localization in Paris.
Each day, they add a new pair.

An intrepid climber dubbed the "French Spiderman" was expelled from China on Tuesday after five days in prison for illegally climbing the country’s tallest building.

Alain Robert was arrested after having scaled and descended the 430m (1,380 foot) Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai, dressed in his trademark Spiderman costume and without any ropes or safety equipment.

R.P.A. (Roller Park Avenue) was one of the best spot in Paris for rollerskating.
We all had had good times in this skatepark… Unforgettable nights and rides…

  Les français de Chine et de Shanghai ont élu Nicolas Sarkozy dès le 1er tour, avec un total de 52.69% de voix exprimées pour ce candidat.

Le taux de participation (61.08%) est par contre très faible comparé avec celui de la France métropolitaine (83.77%!).
Peut-être que le corps électoral français n’a pas encore bien pris en compte les francais de l’étranger (et leur poids!)…
Mais si l’on compare ce taux avec celui des français aux USA par exemple (32%), on se rend compte que la mobilisation a été particulièrement forte en Chine

Le nombre des Français de l’étranger qui ont participé à l’élection présidentielle de 2007 est en très forte augmentation.

Selon les listes consulaires arrêtées le 28 février 2007, parmi les 941 364 électeurs inscrits, 821 600 ont choisi d’exercer leur droit de vote aux quatre coins du monde et surtout en Europe.

Un poids dorénavant non négligeable pour le scrutin.

Les Français établis à l’étranger ont pu voter personnellement dans l’un des 547 bureaux de vote ou par procuration.
