More than one month ago, City weekend magazine published an interview of one of our favorite crew member ;-)

Interview rollerskating City Week End

And here is a copy of the online version:

Cities and Mountains are like playgrounds

Why roller skating? Why not skateboarding or mountain biking?

Although the story of Atomic Skate began with roller skates, these events and trips are open to anybody who feels like getting an adrenaline rush on wheels. No limits, no discrimination–just some good fun between friends.

What do you love most about roller skating?

Its creative potential. Cities and mountains are like huge playgrounds. You can divert every element around you to create new paths and new uses. The number of possibilities is infinite.

How did the group decide on roller skating in Moganshan after being barred from Shanghai’s streets?

Moganshan is an incredible place for skating. It has beautiful downhills, perfect roads and great landscapes–it seems like this place was made for skating. At the time, the organizer already knew this spot pretty well so it didn’t take a long time before he organized trips up there. And Moganshan is just one of many great spots around Shanghai; Shengsi Island, Taihu Xishan and many places in Zhejiang have also played host Atomic Skate’s events–and will again!

Have you ever bailed out when roller skating?

Nothing’s worse than falling with each leg on either side a handrail when sliding down it…

Ouch, we can imagine! So what are the best spots for roller skating in the city?

Shanghai Concert Hall and the Shanghai Museum of Science and Technology for tricks, Nanjing Dong Lu at night for slaloming cones and Hongkou for chill free skate.
