What do you think of the guy who's been held in custody in Thailand for 5 years now for being caught with pot in his diving tanks? Should he be sent back to France before or after having been put to death?

I agree with you on the fact that we only have to deport people who have done something really bad.
And I also agree that we should clean our jails by deporting such kind of people back to their home.
I'm glad to see that you want to save France money!
But concerning this "double sentence", it's not the right term. If anybody has done a fault, it's not a question of saving money, but a question of justice (respect for the victims, lesson for the accused...) to accomplish his sentence, and then to be sent back to his home.
That, and only that, is in line witn the French motto "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity".

the law that stated immigrant offenders should be deported after serving their sentence."I think it is normal.... because if you are a french national you will only have to serve your sentence... so a foreigner have a double penality, that do not respect the french motto "liberty, equality, fraternity"So what to do ?Why no directly deport the offender to his country. (of course deport only if he do something really bad, not just smoking some canabis or things like that :P)It will save france money (it cost a lot to keep someone in Jail), and it will be more fair.88
