China’s longest river, 长江, is "cancerous" with pollution and rapidly dying, threatening drinking water supplies in 186 cities along its banks, including Shanghai.
Chinese environmental experts fear worsening pollution could kill the Yangtze river within five years, Xinhua news agency said, calling for an urgent clean-up.
Last Sunday (June 25th) at Douaumont, French President Jacques Chirac has marked 90 years since the Battle of Verdun by unveiling a monument to Muslims who fell in the key WWI battle.
President Jacques Chirac, who unlike his predecessors has abrogated the tradition consisting in putting flowers each year of the grave of Marshal Pétain, has blamed the Verdun’s vanquisher to have covered "with his glory the dishonor of the collaboration". This declaration has been immediately greeted by Serge Klarsfeld (President of the association of the children of french deported Jews).
Once more, we can realize of the inconsistency of that which is used to serve us as President of the French Republic… For sure, Chirac will cover nothing with his glory! His two mandates weren’t glorious at all! So the conclusion is that when you do one thing glorious in your whole life, it’s already a good start!
Coming 60 years later and saying: "Me, I would have done that" it’s really easy… Was the alternative so wide in 1940?
Last Wednesday (June 21st), it was our bi-weekly rollerskating ride around Puxi by night, and this time we’ve decided to follow this circuit:

Saturday, we went to the SMP skatepark and the weather was incredibly hot and wet, until a mini-storm arrives and refresh the air 
But… it wasn’t a small rain, it was really a big shower, so we’ve decided to take out our skate shoes and clothes, and go swimming and jumping in the bowls!!!!!!!!!!!

Conclusion: this evening I had to disassemble my skateshoes in order to clean everything as it was too dirty!

Two days ago, we’ve been for the first time to the new icerink at Shanghai Pudong LuJiaZui.
It’s just open since May 3rd, and I think it will be our refreshing spot during our coming hot hot hot summer at Shanghai!
